The 2018 World Happiness Report has the Nordic Nations take the top four spots lead by Finland. The report is produced by the United Nations Sustainable Development Solutions Network (UNSDSN) and Scandinavian countries have been in the top ten for years now. Ever wondered how? According to one of the study Editors Professor John Helliwell, “There is a view that suggests that historically communities that live in harsher weather are brought together by greater mutual support.” The economic conditions of the country with excellent GDP and tax ratio help its citizens to avail health care and higher education at reasonable cost leading to supportive social programmes. Apparently, according to research the most astonishing factor for Scandinavians happy state of mind is their lower expectations of their own happiness. Finland is stated to be the safest country as per 2018 Travel Risk Map. The country boasts of green splendor with maximum forest per square mile in entire Europe and hence its green credentials have been soaring and was given the top position by Environment Performance Index in the year 2016.
